Peter and the wolf 2.0
For this project I have designed custom software that uses gps to let the audience experience a location based story in an outside environment. This can for instance be used to re-experience historical events at certain locations, or turn a childrens story into an interactive, playfull experience in a forest, as I did.
Applied
I chose the story of Peter and the Wolf as a basis for an interactive audiostory. In this synesthetic experience, children have to fysically go and look around to find the characters in a forest environment, as they are being led by the musical themes that resemble the characters. When they have found these ‘hotspots’, the story further develops. A soundtrack and spoken voice will guide the player through the exprerience, and give help when the player is going the wrong way.
This product is a mix of spoken childrens story and game and engages the player to immerse with the story and its related outside environment. The immersive audio experience is in development for iPhone and uses headphones for optimal immersion. Although its runs on a smartphone the game only takes place in the auditive realm, so that the player can concentrate on his environment and the chanching music, without having to look on a screen all the time.
This project is currently in further development.
