Spacial Sound - Broken Beats

In this video I'm experimenting with the interactive sound installation that I've built during my minor Sound Design in 2009.

When taking part of the interactive environment users are encouraged to play with rhytmic beats. The space is subdivided into different areas that produce different beats. As they move through the playfield they can "mix" these beats together while dancing and moving around. A second player could be added to perform a bassline or melody.

I wrote the software with max/msp and used a videocamera and Jitter for cv detection. The music (sequencer) was also generated in max msp and was sent out to a drum computer via midi.
