Kitchen and/or house
Basis for this animated video is the way image and sound are combined. A soundtrack is usually made to cohese with already existing video footage. For this project I've started out with sound as the basis and added moving image later.
The result is this short animation that is about kitchen objects making music. As these ordinary household objects come to life they notice the sounds they make and together they explore about "rhythm": Indivual sounds combined and arranged form a musical structure that one could describe as a rhytmic beat, basis for "house music".
The term house music arised from the fact that consumers were able to produce music in their home without an expensive studio, because affordable equipment like the drumcomputer became availlable. This short reacts to this given fact saying that even without a drumcomputer one can make house music, using something as simple as a water tap and a switch as sounds arranged and repeated in time.
